Privacy Policy

Are you concerned about your privacy? You should be, and so am I.

On this page you will not find a document written by a lawyer, requiring a university degree to understand it. I will tell you in plain English how and why ferminfernandez.com collects any personal and non-personal data, and how this information is used.

Personal Data

What is meant by personal data? These are bits of information that can identify you personally. They include, but are not limited to, things like your name, email address, postal address and credit card details.

This website does not ask you to enter, nor does it collect or store any data of this kind.

In the process of purchasing a product, third-party companies like Apple and PayPal collect (or already have on file) some personal details of this nature. They do this to take your payment and deliver your products.

Apple does not share any data with me about who purchases my apps. They only provide anonymous information such as how many apps were sold and in which countries.

PayPal does send me an email notification so that I can fulfill your order, and this can contain your name, email and address. I do not use this information for any purpose other than delivering your registration keys.

I do not have any control over the privacy practices of either Apple or PayPal, so if you have any concerns or questions about their respective policies please contact them directly.

Non-Personal Data

What do I mean by non-personal data? This is information that cannot be used to identify you personally. It includes generic things like cookies and web page access logs. This anonymous data is only used in the context of monitoring website performance, tracking number of visitors and is collected by most servers.

Protection of Data

All personal data that I have on file (specifically PayPal notification emails) are stored with industry-standard ecryption and password-protection. No one other than myself (Fermin Fernandez) has access to this information and it will not be used for marketing purposes. The same is true of the non-personal data.

Disclosure of Data

I have a firm non-disclosure policy. I don't share, give away, sell or in any other manner profit from passing on any of the above-mentioned personal, or non-personal information. The only exception to this policy is if required to do so by Australian or International law or in the course of a police investigation of a crime.

Your Rights

Any of your own personal data belongs to you and you have the absolute right to ask what information I may have in my possesion, make corrections to it, or have it deleted if you wish.

For example, if you prefer me not keep any records of your personal data associated with a previous purchase you can request this via the contact page and after confirming your identity I will delete the information. Please keep in mind that in such cases you will need to keep your own backup of registration keys as it may not be possible to replace them if you are affected by data loss or hard drive failure.

Questions

If you have any questions regarding this privacy policy that are not answered above, please contact me.
